The National Weather Service has put out the following winter storm warning. With the winter storm warning in place the El Paso City Hall will be closed Wednesday, February 2nd to Thursday, February 3rd. City Hall will still be available by phone. ...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING
TO 6 PM CST THURSDAY...
* WHAT...Heavy snow and sleet expected. Total snow accumulations
of 5 to 17 inches, with the higher totals favoring locations
near Interstate 72. Sleet accumulations of between 1/10 and 2/10
of an inch. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
* WHERE...Portions of central, east central and west central
Illinois.
* WHEN...From 9 PM this evening to 6 PM CST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible.
Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.
The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening
commute. Power outages may also occur.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.
