Board of Zoning Appeals

Overview

The Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) is a seven member board, appointed by the mayor with the consent of the city council, and is responsible for administering the City of El Paso Zoning Ordinance, land use regulations, variance requests, and provides recommendations to the city council on said matters.

The BZA meets on an as needed basis, typically on Thursday evenings. Agendas are posted at city hall and the city website three days prior to the scheduled meeting date. Public hearings before the BZA are published in the local newspaper in accordance with state statutes.
