St. Mary's is located in section 31, Panola Township, Woodford County, Illinois.  It is located 1.5 miles north of El Paso on U.S. Route 251, (previously Route 51).  Woodford County coordinates 1060N and 2700E.

This is one of two cemeteries associated with the St. Mary's Catholic Church of El Paso, Illinois, the other being St. Joseph's.  St. Mary's was purchased for the Chicago Diocese by Bishop Foley on October 10, 1870 from John and Rosetta DeBolt and originally served the Irish Catholic members from El Paso.

In 1999, the duties of Sexton were taken over by Tim Kearney of RR 1, El Paso from Mike Cleary, who served for many years.  St. Mary's Catholic Church is at 79 W. Third Street, PO Box 197, El Paso, IL 61738, phone 309.527.4555.
